Who the Hell are We?
The Chi Town Lou Crew consists of two brothers from the South suburbs of Chicago. Every now and again, a third member joins the two. The Chi Town Lou Crew was formed in the magical summer of 2008 and continued into the disasterous fall. After a winter hiatus, the summer came ‘round again as did the Chi Town Lou Crew. The podcasts began as a mutual love for one particular Chicago baseball team, and a mutual hatred for another (listen and try to figure out which is which)(or just look at our name).Alex Ivnik
Alex is a 23 year old life-long Cubs fan. He recently graduated from Joliet Junior College with an associate degree in Culinary Arts and aspires to open an Italian restaurant in the greatest city in the world: Chicago. Eternally optimistic about the Cubbies, Alex had the original idea to begin a podcast with his friend Dan. Chi Town Lou Crew is the name that he came up with as it has been his Fantasy Baseball team name since Sweet Lou came to the Cubs in 2007. He also comes up with all the music for each episode, runs the stats, and is the webmaster for the Chi Town Lou Crew. Basically, if it has to do with a computer, it’s Alex’s job to make sure that it gets done. Some of his favorite historical players include Ryne Sandberg, Mark Grace, and Ron Santo. Some of his favorite current players include Aramis Ramirez, Derrek Lee, Angel Guzman, and Theodore Roosevelt Lilly.
Paul Ivnik
Paul is a 21 year old lifelong Cubs fan. He is currently attending Eastern Illinois University and is majoring in Math Education. He aspires to inspire and teach high school mathematics to ungrateful bastard children who he will constantly break down psychologically until they are math machines. An eternal pessimist about the Cubs, Paul joined the Chi Town Lou Crew as soon as he learned of the plans laid out by Alex and Dan. He is the main voice leading the podcast and he is also the voice of reason. Some of his favorite historical players are Ron Santo, Ryne Sandberg, Kerry Wood, and Mark Grace. Some of his favorite current players are Alfonso Soriano, Theodore Roosevelt Lilly, and Aramis Ramirez.
Dan Marinellie
Dan is a 23 year old lifelong Cubs fan. He has worked for Union Pacific Railroad and is contemplating returning to school to become a mechanic. He aspires to become the one and only fair and reasonable mechanic in all the land. That’s a lie, he wants to screw you out of every penny you have, but go to see him anyway! He owns a different Cubs jersey for each day of the week, and will only be seen in public supporting the team he loves.. He had the original idea with Alex to begin doing the podcast. He is around for the comic relief and for the random tidbits of knowledge that only he has. He is also the most flaky member of the Chi Town Lou Crew, appearing in episodes here and there, but not on a consistent basis. Some of his favorite historical players include Ron Santo, Billy Williams, and Ernie Banks. Some of his favorite current players are Aramis Ramirez, Carlos Zambrano, and Ryan Dempster.
